In De Lier there is a bell pepper nursery of more than eight hectares. In high season harvesting runs six days a week, and every pair of hands counts. The owner has worked with Agroflex for several seasons and explains how the partnership works in practice.
“It starts with planning. In February we sit down with Agroflex: how many people do we need, and when? They make sure the crew is ready on time, including housing and transport. Every morning the van arrives at the greenhouse at a quarter to seven, and the people know exactly where to be.”
What makes the difference, in his view, is that the team stays largely the same every season. “They know the rows, the pace and the way we work. New people are trained by the experienced colleagues, and the Agroflex coordinator drops by regularly to check that everything runs smoothly.”
His advice to other growers: “Find a partner who understands the crop and whom you can call when something goes wrong. For us that is Agroflex. One call and it is arranged.”
